This is THE vinyl-version of the 16 tracks, recorded prior to their "Zulu" album (KILL ROCK STARS), and until now having been only available as a cassette! And of you think "Zulu" was great, then you'll be amazed how INCREDIBLE these 16 songs are! Listening to Hardcore-Punk now for more than 20 years, there's hardly anything (if anything at all!) in this genre that really blows me away and gets me totally excited... but these tracks surely did so! "Layers of noise flesh out the trebly bass and drums bones of this german noise-hardcore band - while the throaty, semi-distorted screams and harmonic feedback from KURT vocalist/guitarist Frank adds the epidermis. So sure, this sounds a bit like KURT; but its brutality hits like a hammer instead of a midnight intruder though!"

ENIAC "Oh?" CD (XM-079)
The guys have put a lot of efforts into finishing these recordings - and wow, it was worth all the wait, since now they ROCK like nothing else! ENIAC's sound is better than ever before, still full-on energetic and kicking, but with more though-out production and filled with catchy hooks! Those who had the pleasure to experience them live lately, will know anyway, and even the hardcore-nerds of Heartattack fanzine liked their sound (quote: "Moving forward all the time, like a tractor in heat, this really ROCKS!") To me it sounds like the drive and power of KURT meeting the songwriting of LES SAVY FAV - and a combination of two of my favorite bands, what more could we ask for?
The 12" was released on NOVA RECORDINGS containing 8 songs, while the CD released on X-MIST, features as bonus two more tracks taken from their SOLD-OUT single, but as remastered versions!

THE YELLOW PRESS "s/t" 12" (XM-078/CR-09)
The YELLOW PRESS from San Francisco formed in early 2003, featuring ex-members of TORCHES TO ROME and HOUSEBOY, and with a mixed bag of hardcore and new wave influences, banged their way into every warehouse-space and art gallery in the city, while touring extensively and releasing two CDep's on their own label SILVER SKATE RECORDINGS.
Not since Brooklyn introduced LIARS or LES SAVY FAV have so many kids caught on word-of-mouth to how ridiculously fun a YELLOW PRESS live-performance can be. Built around a solid rhythm-section and grounded in a grumbling bass that might actually get physical, the boys add a swirling keyboard and stabbing guitar lines to create short, punchy songs without the gimmicks employed by most post-punk bands today. Danceable and melodic, yet wholly unique in style and approach!

The 3rd album by this band from Cologne/Germany, and these 9 new tracks here are by far surpassing anything these guys had ever recorded before! Musically there are similarities to ROBOCOP KRAUS, but the OLIVER TWIST go one or more steps further... sounding like a fresh & juvenile equivalent to the LES SAVY FAV or LIFTER PULLER - and yes, their non-predictable approach to music even reminds me of the BIG BOYS (if i dare say so?)...
